Excellence in Teaching Award

The Anchorage Post SAME Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (EMST) program was established in 1995 by the Anchorage Post. The program identifies outstanding mathematics and science teachers, 10" thru 12th grade, in the Anchorage and Mat- Su School Districts who are teaching full-time in public or private schools. These teachers serve as models for their colleagues and are leaders in the improvement of science and mathematics education as well as contributing significantly to the early development of future engineers and scientists.

Since 1995, more than a dozen teachers have been selected as Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching Awardees. They represent a premier group of mathematics and science teachers who bring high standards to life in their classrooms. They provide the Community and the Nation with an impressive array of expertise to help improve teaching and learning student development.
