Welcome to the SAME Anchorage Post!
The Anchorage Post is located in Anchorage, Alaska and has approximately 400 individual and 60 sustaining members. The post was founded by Brigadier General Benjamin B. Talley, USA (Retired) in 1943.

Construction Schedule Training Seminar
The Anchorage Post is sponsoring Reviewing and Analyzing Critical Path Method (CPM) Construction Schedules training seminar on February 19, 2010 at the Captain Cook Hotel. Cost for this training course is $150 for non-military and $50 for military personnel. The goal is to demystify CPM scheduling. After this course you will have a higher proficiency in reviewing construction schedules, and performing time impact analyses. This same course is currently being taught to the US Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District.

.Monthly Luncheon
Our next monthly luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, 25 February 2010 at 11:30am.
We will meet again at the Anchorage Moose Lodge. A pizza lunch will be available for $5.
Kevin Thomas will be our speaker for the February Luncheon and will discuss Alaska Air Force Reserve Engineers Recent Support Mission in Iraq.
Kevin Thomas is the Pacific Region manager for the Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment. In this position he is responsible for executing a $60M a year program, including traditional engineering and construction, military construction, environmental restoration and other support to base customers in Alaska, Hawaii, Korea, Japan and locations throughout the Pacific. Kevin is also a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force Reserve and served as the commander of the 477th Civil Engineer Squadron (477 CES) from January 2006 - January 2010. The 477 CES was mobilized and deployed to Kirkuk Regional Air Base, Iraq in 2009 and Lt Col Thomas served as the deputy commander of the 506th Air Expeditionary Group. This month's presentation will highlight how the Air Force supported the US Army and other government agencies at Kirkuk in the rebuilding of Iraq.

The next meeting will be held on Friday, 29 January 2010 at 6:30 am at the Country Kitchen restaurant (346 E. Fifth Avenue, next to the Sheraton Hotel).

2007 Pacific/Northwest Region Joint Education and Training Conference
The SAME Anchorage Post hosted the 2007 Northwest/Pacific Region conference, which occurred between 27 February and 2 March 2007. Our web site is still up and running, where you can look over the venue and download briefings from the training and education sessions.
The conference was a huge success! The SAME Anchorage Post thanks everyone for their generous contributions, sponsorships, and help making this important event a big success!!
